I don't care, but... Tennant Ruins Hamlet 10/12/08
Like I said, I don't care, but I was amused to read that David Tennant has managed to completely spoil the RSC's London production of Hamlet.
First he revealed to the press that Yorick's skull (alas poor Yorick...) was played by Tchaikowsky, as was his dying wish (or whatever), leading the RSC to decide it could no longer be used, as it would draw too much attention from audiences.
Then he dropped out due to a back injury. Now as I said, I don't care, and also by all reports his understudy is better anyway, but I still thought it was funny. Especially as David Tennant and Richard Hammond merge into one person in my head, and I can only imagine Tennant's performance could be likened to a Blue Peter presenter. Entirely unfair, as I've barely watched anything he's been in.
But I thought I should write something, and that's all that came to mind.
Avid readers will be happy to know that
a) As guessed, changes in VAT rates have made no difference to anyone, except to businesses who have had to waste valuable days on administrating the change, not to mention all the time that will be wasted when trying to calculate VAT bills for this quarter, given the changeover was in the middle.
b) Le Crunch hasn't hit where I work - we're busier than ever and looking like we'll match last year's record sales. Hooray!
You should read Ted's blog - it's a lot more interesting.
