I was very excited to see the return of I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue to Radio 4. So far, they have made 6 new editions, with 3 different hosts. The first two were hosted by Stephen Fry, and jolly good they were too. The second two were hosted by Jack Dee, who was surprisingly adept at the job and I really enjoyed his stint. The final two were chaired by Rob Brydon, who was majestic. He has such a wonderful quality in his voice, and such a distinct turn of pronunciation. In many ways he reminds me of when you hear the younger Humph chairing the editions of ISIHAC from the 80's and early 90's. He didn't rush the jokes, gave the perfect measure of pacing and best of all, you really felt they were all showing off for him, much like with Humph. Don't get me wrong, they were all three of them excellent, but I felt it a more natural fit for Brydon. He is my choice, if they are seeking a permanent host.

The only thing that ruined Brydon's residency was, for some insane reason, Phil Jupitus was on Tim's team. If you are not familiar with ISIHAC, Graeme Garden and Barry Cryer are always on the same team and each week a special guest will team up with Tim Brooke-Taylor to compete against them. Sometimes, you get really good special guests, like Jeremy Hardy (the king of the guests) the late Linda Smith, Victoria Wood, Paul Merton and many others who are just very good at word play and improv. Phil Jupitus, in my opinion, was just totally wrong for this and seemed to be either delivering with far too much gusto or just being mildly embarrassing at times.

I bare the man no malice, I enjoy his weekly Times football podcast and whilst I can't stand Never Mind The Buzzcocks, I can understand the appeal of someone shouting music at a minor celebrity and asking for clips to be paused endlessly so they can point out something mind-bogglingly obvious, pedestrian and not at all funny. It must literally be easy money for him, he is the only one who still remains from when it started 100 years ago. Sean Hughes died of boredom and Mark Lamarr disappeared up his own arse, but Phil, he hung around for the easy ride.

Anyway, I wish him all the luck in the world. He must have some agent.

I have just had a heated discussion about James Bond again. It seems that periodically I have some sort of tough exchange about this topic. A friend of mine (who is obsessed with trousers)is of the opinion that Moonraker is a good Bond film. My point was this. If a modern film had some of the content of Moonraker (the hover-gondola, Jaws falling in love and saving Bond at the end, the re-entry scene, the rubber snake, Bond starting to look too old) it would not be taken seriously. Moonraker is a curious film, it is one of the Bond films I watch to have a laugh, not with, but at. Like For Your Eyes Only, Octopussy, A View To A Kill and Never Say Never Again. It is a classic, but only in the same way a great comedy would be.

Take that trouser boy.

Moonraker is rubbish, and trousers suck harder than Kate Moss' nostrils.
I concur with my esteemed husband that despite my earlier defence of it, QoS is a bit boring after a while, but even laughing AT Moonraker gets tedius around an hour into it.

I agree, that QOS is a bit of a bore fest after a viewing or two. But it was all the better for not having a pigeon double taking at a hovering gondola.

Bollocks, Moonraker is class. Quantum of Solace is a big pile of shit that it is impossible to watch more than twice without slipping into a boredom coma. Oh, and who the fuck is Tim?
