| Every profession has its apprenticeship schemes. If you want your own electrician (or Spark to the layman) business, you will first need to train with a professional spark (not Russell Mael, ha, funny Sparks joke) and build yourself up (no idea if that is true, making it up as I go along).
James Cordon and the other weird looking one seem to be different. They seem to have been given the brass ring by the BBC. Their empire seems to have been built on mild success in a relatively short time. Any other performer would take this mild success and build slowly, perhaps with supporting roles or low key comedy. Certainly, the wrong thing to do immediately afterwards would be to appear in a rush job film designed to attempt to gain some grip on the Shaun of the Dead coat tails. Cannon and Ball tried to rush into films with their appalling 1983 film "The Boys in Blue." An ill advised remake of the 1938 Will Hay classic. Mitchell and Webb tried and failed as well. It is just the wrong thing to do immediately. Especially if you are British. You may as well just not bother. Having done some research recently on Cordon and the other weird looking one. I don't really understand the fuss and clamour to offer them their own sketch show. There are writers and performers working at the moment who could really make something good on TV, but no one is giving them a chance. Instead, we are having to cater to the morons by giving shows to rent-a-cunt Chris Moyles and Justin-Lee Collins. BBC 3 is part of the problem, it seems to have changed from the breeding ground for different and innovative comedy in its many guises (UK Play, BBC Choice) to now having any old cunt record the continuity on their phones, "And now, Family Guy" says the bell-end in a wig. James Cordon has a real unique comic angle. A comedy well that no comedian has managed to tap. You see, he is fat. Not only is he fat, but he gets his belly out a lot and wiggles it. Seemingly in every single on of their "comedy" sketches. I know, so simple it is brilliant. I didn't realise fat people could be funny. I especially didn't realise they could take their top off. Amazing. Well done BBC, another comedy gem to add to the pile of Catherine Tate, Little Britain, Three Pints of Lager and Grown Ups. Not to say that Horne and Corden don't have any sort of talent. I am told that Gavin and Stacey is very good. But, based on their sketch show. I refuse to give them any benefit of doubt. The BBC advise that Horne and Corden is a "traditional" comedy show in the style of Morecambe and Wise. Fuck off is it, what an insult to Morecambe and Wise. That is like saying that the holocaust was a "traditional" punishment in the style of tickling. This "sketch" show is tired, boring, predictable and repetitive. It should read, Horne and Corden, a "traditional" comedy show in the style of a fat man taking his top off. Incidentally, the teaser for their series mocked the 1990 film "Ghost." Fuck me, satire is it guys? How many times as that pottery scene been mocked?? Why not try something new? Or, hey, leave being funny to comedians. But don't kill yourself just yet BBC. I did enjoy the first episode of Stuart Lee's Comedy Vehicle. No wonder he is the 41st best stand up. Very good, I look forward to more of the same. The section about celebrity hard backs was particularly spot on. "Brave" Jade watch is still on as far as the papers are concerned. One of the tabloids ran a story that she was going blind. She wasn't by the way. Now, she is hours from the end and they had a quote from her son saying she "Brave" Jade is going to be with the angels. Sorry, the racist bully angels? you know, the racist bully that the same papers were calling "Brave" Jade a year ago? The fight for tabloid attention is still on. I see that Kerry Katona has felt a bit left out so she dumped her husband for a day, now they are back together. That must have made her a few quid. She should do herself a favour and make friends with Jade, she may even get in on the last few pictures.
