Well. I ran again this evening. What a rush and good feeling all round. I ran well over a mile tonight and didn't actually want to stop. I even walked for a while to warm down. I don't know why I didn't think of this before. I am now officially The Exercist. I look forward to my summer of feeling good, wrestling in oil and kicking sand in wimps faces.
My good times didn't end there. I had a further treat waiting for me when I got in, in the shape of our scales. Whilst I always fear the worst when stepping onto a set of scales, in the last 21 days, things have been different. That worm has turned. It turns out I have lost 8 pounds in those 21 days. So, I beat my weekly target by 2 pounds, which is the best news I have had in a while. Well, in context.
I notice that I failed to mention much about the unstoppable Juggernaut that is Slumdog Millionaire when I mentioned the Oscar ceremony yesterday. I think it deserved everything it got. It is quite simply a work of genius. The film is just so beautifully structured and just has that feeling of an instant classic, one you feel sure that will be lauded for many years to come. The direction is also impeccable from Danny Boyle, who really deserves more accolades and hype than he gets, he has been responsible for some of the most interesting films for the last 15 years or so, apart from The Beach and A Life Less Ordinary, but every Director can make a couple of stinks.
I love the fact that the child actors in Slumdog are actually from the slums and got to go to the Oscar ceremony, that is a tale almost as fantastical as the film, let's just hope they didn't have to swim in poo. I also love the fact that they have returned back to Mumbai as heroes. They have also been rewarded with a house in gratitude for their services. That is a real fairy tale for them, very pleasing to hear.
I was sorry to hear about the death of Wendy Richards today, whilst I didn't particularly like her Eastenders work, I was a fan of Are You Being Served when I was a nipper and also every other thing she seemed to appear in, from Dads Army to Up Pompeii! to Bless This House to even a scene in the Beatles film Help! Which was later cut, she was just in so much and from real old money British showbiz stock and from all accounts was also a very nice lady.

| It's a crime that the film Oscar never won some kind of award. Pehaps an Oscar or even Dave ja vu's movie of the week. I put specs on and everything. Comment By: Sylvetser Stallone, 27 Feb 2009, Rating: 5/5 |
