Good day. Well, it would be if I felt human, sadly I am stricken down with a stinking cold, which always seems romantic until you get it and remember what a pain in the arse it really is.
I read today that Leona Lewis is releasing an autobiography. Yes, that 23 year old winner of X Factor, really wants to tell us about how she went from being a lowly Pizza waitress to an international star. Well, we saw that didn't we? That was X Factor wasn't it? Or was she already an international star?
Do we really want another autobiography from someone who isn't even 30 yet? Can that many interesting things have happened? Apparently she wants to tell us about when she performed with Jimmy Page on top of a bus in China. We saw that as well didn't we?? In the hand over ceremony?
Girls Aloud also released an autobiography before Christmas. I can see that their story is, again, pretty much told. Plus, none of these books will ever dish dirt on people, or talk about incidents with Mud Sharks, they are just glorified fanzines.
I am getting pretty sick of these frankly uninteresting people releasing books about their 1 or 2 years worth of fame. Who cares about the early life of some one who won a talent contest?? Autobiographies, like most things dealing with celebrity these days, used to mean something. If a celebrity was appearing somewhere, it was exciting, these days, it is the norm as any old cunt is a celebrity, but they seem to have different categories.
In the lead up to the New Year there was one of those really annoying top 100 annoying people count downs and the same old people were lined up to give their opinions. People you only see on these kind of programmes. The worst example of this is Wayne Rooney's cousins. The only reason they are famous it would seem, is that Wayne Rooney is their cousin. Well, my uncle was on Tomorrow's World once, if anyone from one of those countdown shows is reading this, I am available and have my own opinions.
If you think that Leona Lewis and the like releasing an autobiography is bad, then you should also be informed that 15 year old US teen sensation Miley Cyrus is releasing her memoirs this year. I know that when I was 15, I had one hell of a life story to tell, so good on her.
By way of a side note, I see a woman has been hassling Martin Shaw. In the interests of balance, can any ladies reading this start hassling Lewis Collins? I am sure he feels left out. Luckily, Gordon Jackson is dead, so he wont care too much.
