A Feel Good Story
Or, Le Crunch can be good sometimes.

21/12/08
It is hard to find any "feel good" stories relating to Le Crunch at the moment. Bankers are hanging themselves, people are losing jobs and there seems to be mass panic. If there are any good stories to come out of Le Crunch, the media certainly aren't reporting them, which is typical, have they not heard of making lemonade out of lemons??

Anyway, if anyone from the media is reading this, I have a great "feel good" story regarding Le Crunch. Yesterday I went to Woolworths to see about some closing down bargains, yes, I am aware that I am Howard Carter to the tomb of Wooly and Worth, and I found a real bargain. Band of Brothers, on Blu Ray, for £28, thanks Le Crunch!

The trouble is, all I can think of Wooly and Worth powerless on life support whilst I lean over, press my knee on their bed and remove the gold teeth to pay their hospital bills.

Woolworths was a crazy sight. There were aisles and aisles of nothing, like one of those shops that only pops up for Christmas tat. A man next to me had an eye on a blender, it wasn't a huge brand name one, but a blender none the less. He asked at the counter about how much it was, five quid was the answer. It was very sad to be in a shop that has always been around, and see such chaos. Everywhere I looked were posters advising that they only had seven days to go, before the end. When I think of all the times I went to my local Woolworths as a kid to buy 7 inch singles, pick and mix, cap guns and rubbish toys. Now, they only have a week (6 days as I write this) to go before the end.

I remembered yesterday whilst I was queueing that in about 1985, my local Woolworths was selling a goldfish bag style set of about 10 loose Star Wars figures for £1.50. They obviously didn't have the boxes for them and just wanted rid. If only they had kept hold of them, they wouldn't be in so much trouble now. They were very much like the Squirrel that played during the summer and didn't save nuts and acorns, then, when winter came, was fucked. Well, I am sorry Wooly and Worth. If you had only known about how much Star Wars figures go for now, you would be nice and warm!

Everyone in my generation curses the day that they threw their Star Wars figures away. I myself have never been able to forget (mostly because my brother won't let it lie) the time I had a row with my brother, so to get back at him, I bit the heads off of his favourite Star Wars figures. He was very angry as he had Ben Kenobe, which you had to send off for and was very rare. If you are reading this Chris, I am very sorry, what a schmuck I was.

I see that both versions of Hallelujah are topping the charts. It would seem I missed the point before when mentioning about Leonard Cohen being the rightful author of the song. The point I should have made is, who fucking cares what is number one?? Who cares what a very small selection of the country think is a good song? Cunts, is the answer. There, that's better, I said it.

When I was in my early 20's I remember playing with my star wars figures one snowy morn on my Mums' coal bunker. Unfortunatley I left them to dry on the terminal guard and they all melted and became disfigured. Yesterday when I went to visit them in the shoebox hospital they were listening to this new verstion of Hallelujah but because of their crippled state, unable to escape the horror of it all. Squashed Vader said they all preferred the Buckley version, not just 'cause he's dead but because the new version sounds like shite Kareoke bollocks and makes me want to travell from villiage to villiage screaming in full ape style like Andre the Giant who incidentally could have done a better version of Hallelujah even as a rotting corpse. Reality shows are the reason Aliens don't visit us anymore; were the laughing stock of the universe. We can do better people: Take 'Heil Honey I'm Home', for instance !

My brother in law still has his original Millennium Falcon. Does anyone want his address & times of day he is out of the house?
